A wild week

This week has been rather intense for me. With the exception of two mistakes on Tuesday (sorry Amy and Scott) everything worked well. This week I started attending a few meetings again since we started the CSA. In this world of farming, and maybe all worlds, one can be meetinged out. On Tuesday I attended a meeting titled "Ministers Advisory Board on Extension" - it is very exciting. This is an opportunity to provide feedback on what works and doesn't for the agricultural community in terms of extension services. This is a great thing for all of us who are wanting to eat great local food.

And then on Wednesday night we had a meeting among farmers in Kings County. The issue is land and whether there should be restrictions on land zoned for agriculture or not. It was a very good meeting where farmers expressed their opinions and voted.

Now it is Friday and we have been working on the planting list, tilling some soil and working in the tunnels.

The chickens are getting big too and we need to get the chicken coop built. I will load some pictures now. Enjoy the weekend - Patricia

  1. Hey. So what;s the follow up from the "extension" meeting? I'd love to know more about that because the greenhouse and nursery extension services have been non-existent since the mass exodus from the department.
